The problem
A report is not the whole picture.
Weather information is spread across observations, forecasts and charts. Understanding how it relates to a route takes time and careful cross-checking.
An observation describes a place and time. A forecast covers a period and carries uncertainty. A chart adds a wider view. Making sense of the differences is essential before relating that information to a flight.
The direction we are exploring
AnaMet is planned as the aeronautical weather tool in ANA, covering METAR, TAF, charts and conditions along a route. It will inform the pilot’s reading of the weather; it will not replace official sources or judgement.
What we want to make clearer
These are design intentions for the planned product, not features available today.
Observations and forecasts
The intended scope includes METAR and TAF, with attention to the distinction between observed conditions, forecast changes and the periods they cover.
A view along the route
The goal is to relate local reports and broader charts to the journey being considered, while keeping their geographical and time context clear.
A considered reading
The design should help the pilot interpret information and recognise uncertainty. It is not intended to turn weather into a simple go/no-go verdict.
Its place in ANA
AnaMet is the dedicated weather tool in ANA. AnaOps is intended to bring relevant weather into a broader flight preparation workflow. Official sources and the pilot’s judgement remain essential; shared workflows are still planned.
